Milwaukee Admirals 2011-12 Hockey Season Schedule

Milwaukee Admirals 2011

The Milwaukee Admirals and their new coach, Kirk Muller, released their upcoming season schedule this past week. This Milwaukee based NHL farm-league team has enjoyed a boost in popularity after winning the Western Division Title in 2011.

For the 2011-12 season, the American Hockey League will go from four to six divisions. The Admirals now hold a spot in the Midwest Division along with Rockford, Peoria, Charlotte, and Chicago. They will play 44 of the season’s 76 games against those opponents. From early October to mid-April they face Rockford, Chicago, and Peoria 12 times each; and Charlotte eight.

The new make-up of the league means that the three first-place squads will earn the top seeds in the playoffs while five others will have a chance to join them. This is in contrast to the pair of divisional winners and six potential teams that made the post-season in the past. The league also brought down the amount of games played from 80 to 76.

Milwaukee has their home-opener at the Bradley Center on October eighth when they welcome the Chicago Wolves. They will play their season-opener a week prior in Peoria. Fans will be happy that the team is playing the most home weekend games that they have played since 2001. Only six home game-days fall during the week.

April will be the slowest month for Milwaukee fans. The Admirals play only two home games that month, partially due to a seven game road stint. They finish out that month, (and the season,) with nine games spread out over fifteen days. In January and February, they play at the Bradley Center thirteen times.
